About PrivScrub
PrivScrub is a free toolkit for true redaction, metadata scrubbing and PII checks. It runs in your browser so sensitive files never leave your device.
Redaction that actually removes data
PrivScrub rasterizes redacted PDF pages so the underlying text is physically deleted, not hidden under a copyable black box. Metadata such as author, creator app and timestamps is stripped too.
A detector for fake redaction
Our inspector flags files where black boxes appear to hide text that is still selectable underneath. Run it before sharing any supposedly redacted file.
Who builds it
PrivScrub is part of Solmoor, a small independent family of privacy-respecting web tools built without forced sign-ups or hidden uploads.
How it stays free
The tools are free. Some pages link to clearly marked third-party products; those links never affect tool behavior or file processing.
